City volunteer positions open

The City of Sequim seeks volunteers for the planning commission, board of adjustment and design review board.

There are two open positions with the planning commission. Applicants must live within the city limits. The commission meets at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays of each month. This voluntary commission serves as an advisory body to the city council on land use and zoning issues.

The board of adjustment has one open position. Applicants must be residents or own property within the Sequim Urban Growth Area boundaries. The board meets at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month, as needed, and determines if variances to zoning ordinance requirements should be granted.

The design review board has one vacancy, expiring July 1, 2012. The board meets at 5 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month and serves as an advisory board to the city’s planning department.
