Senior menu
Here are the Sequim Senior Nutrition Site menus, served at 4:30 p.m. at Suncrest Village Retirement Apartments, 251 S. Fifth Ave. Suggested donation $3. Menus are subject to change. 24-hours reservation required. Call 683-8491.
Thursday June 24 – Cook’s choice
Friday June 25 – Green salad, hot turkey sandwich, mashed potatoes and gravy, mixed vegetables, rocky road pudding
Monday June 28 – Green salad, pasta primavera with chicken, garlic toast, fresh fruit in season
Tuesday June 29 – Spinach salad, salisbury steak, buttered noodles and tomatoes, cantaloupe
Wednesday June 30 – Soup d’jour, chef salad, herbed biscuit, pineapple upside-down cake.
Veterans benefits
Veterans, spouses of veterans and surviving spouses of veterans are invited to attend a free benefits seminar 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, June 29, at the Sequim Senior Activity Center, 921 E. Hammond St., Sequim.
Veteran service officers from the Veterans of Foreign Wars/Veterans Administration will discuss available benefits, how they work and how to apply for them.

Trail survey
Olympic Discovery Trail workers are requesting help from the community through an online survey. Two people chosen at random who answer survey questions receive either an overnight stay at the Red Caboose Getaway B&B or a half-day guided tour of the Adventure Route on the Discovery Trail, courtesy of Adventures Through Kayaking. The survey is available until June 30 at www.Olympic

Volunteer camp counselors needed
Clallam County Juvenile Services is recruiting graduating seniors to be volunteer camp counselors for the 2010 Rock ‘n’ Roll Camp at Camp David Jr. from Aug. 21-27.
The camp is for youths ages 12-16 who either cannot afford to go to camp or could not afford to go because it would be a hardship on family income.
Juvenile Service employees and current counselors provide training. Call 565-2630.
BUI patrols
Clallam County Sheriff’s Office plans "boating under the influence" emphasis patrols and checks this summer and early fall. The sheriff’s Marine Patrol Unit received a $10,000 grant from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission to help fund the extra marine and lake patrols during salmon season.
