Construction crew needed for 2010 float
Published 11:37 am Wednesday, March 19, 2014
The Irrigation Festival float is one of the most visible parts of the festival as it travels to approximately 16 parades throughout the year and represents Sequim around Western Washington. The festival committee is searching for a new float construction chairman as well as a float designer for the upcoming festival year.
The float designer will be responsible to create one or more designs for consideration by the float construction chairman and will work with that person throughout the construction on build/design issues that arise.
The float construction chairman will evaluate the design(s) for constructability, organize the volunteer construction crew and plan the construction, assign tasks based on priorities and tasks to be done and ensure the float is built and ready in time for the first parade. This person may be a member of the construction crew or just organize the construction, but he/she must be knowledgeable about the construction process and constructability issues.
If you are interested in joining the Irrigation Festival Committee and having an active role in the 115th Sequim Irrigation Festival float construction, contact Joe Borden at 683-3408 or e-mail borden@olypen.com.
