Garden Club hosts annual plant sale

The Port Angeles Garden Club holds its second annual fall plant sale, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at 31 Stephanie Lee Place, Port Angeles.

PAGC members provide plants from their gardens for sale to the public at reasonable prices. There will be a variety of trees, bulbs, perennials, shrubs, vines and more.

Fall is the ideal time to plant specimens from bulbs and perennials to evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs because the warm soil encourages root growth. The fall-planted plant is better equipped to deal with heat and drought of summer, largely due to its well-established root system.

Proceeds from the sale support club projects, including flower show expenses, civic beautification, hanging baskets for the fairgrounds, downtown planters and hanging baskets, Arbor Day trees and the scholarship fund.

PAGC is a member of the National Garden Clubs, Inc.

Directions are as follows: From downtown Port Angeles, go east on First Street (U.S. Highway 101) toward North Chase Street. Turn left onto Lewis Road and turn right to stay on Lewis Road. Turn right onto Country View Drive, then take the first right onto Stephanie Lee Place.
