Health dept. takes disciplinary actions

The Washington State Department of Health has withdrawn charges against a chiropractor in Clallam County.

In December 2010, the Chiropractic Commission granted the application of Keith David Meyer, who must pass an examination before he can practice and whose license will be on probation for one year.

Meyer practiced as a chiropractor without a valid license. He must comply with terms and conditions set against his license.

Also in December 2010, the Nursing Assistant Program denied the application of Brianna S. Larson. Larson entered into a deferred sentence for the charge of theft.

The department’s Health Systems Quality Assurance Office works with boards, commissions and advisory committees to set licensing standards for health care professions.

Information about health care providers is available by clicking on “Provider Credential Search” on the Department of Health website www.doh.wa.gov or by calling 360-236-4700.

The site includes information about a health care provider’s license status, the expiration and renewal date of his or her credential, disciplinary actions and copies of legal documents issued after July 1998.

Consumers who think a health care provider acted unprofessionally are encouraged to call and report their complaint.
