Learn about landscaping with native plants

Clallam Conservation District is offering free landscaping with native plants workshops in Sequim and Port Angeles.
The first is from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St., Port Angeles.
The second is from 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Dungeness River Audubon Center, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road, Sequim.
The workshops focus on environmentally friendly landscaping principles, highlighted by native trees and shrubs.
Cultural requirements, landscaping values, aesthetic attributes, and environmental and wildlife habitat benefits of native trees and shrubs will be covered.
Tips include care for bare-root trees and shrubs and preparation for planting.
Many of the plants are available through the Conservation District’s annual native plant sale.
Orders are being taken now for bare-root native trees and shrubs.
