A man accused of opening a teenage girl’s bedroom window in the middle of the night is no longer facing charges.

Clallam County Deputy Prosecutor John Troberg said more investigation is needed before charges can be filed against Spencer Silva, 21, of Port Angeles.

Silva was arrested Aug. 27 on suspicion of residential burglary and voyerism after a teenage girl in Carlsborg reported seeing a man looking at her through her bedroom window, which had been opened, deputies said.

According to court documents, Silva was found by deputies about 100 yards away from the girl’s house in his car.

Silva’s stepfather Chris Barnette said the young man just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time and was a victim of mistaken identity.

He was released from all court conditions Aug. 30.
