Missing Kitsap woman found dead in Discovery Bay

UPDATE: A 57-year-old woman found dead in Discovery Bay Tuesday afternoon was identified as Janeth Walker, of Poulsbo.

Jefferson County Sheriff Chief Criminal Deputy Joe Nole said Walker was reported missing out of Kitsap County while deputies were investigating the scene where her body was found.

Nole said no foul play is suspected and an autopsy is scheduled for today.

Walker’s car was parked at the beach near where her body was found, he said

 

From Tuesday:

An unidentified female was found dead at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, floating in Discovery Bay near the boat ramp on Gardiner Beach.

Rescue crews were on the scene as of 4:05 p.m.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department officials said a man was walking his dog on the beach near the boat ramp when he discovered the body of a fully clothed, deceased female.

Age and identity of the female are not known at this time, investigators said.

“We know nothing yet,” Jefferson County Sheriff Tony Hernandez said.
