OMCC installing temporary radiation oncology facility

Construction crews at Olympic Medical Cancer Center in Sequim used cranes to set in place six 20- to 50-ton units that make up the Temporary Radiotherapy Vault by RAD Technology Medical Systems LLC.

Once complete, this “temporary vault” will allow OMCC to continue providing the full range of radiological oncology treatments as they decommission and dismantle the previous linear accelerator and vault. They then will build the vault required to house the world-class Varian TrueBeam, purchased by the hospital in September. Completion of the entire $4.1 million project is scheduled for April.

Included in that figure is the $500,000 OMC budgeted to ensure “seamless service” would be provided as the new linear accelerator is installed.
