Author Mavis Amundson will sign copies of her books and meet readers from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Lake Crescent Lodge.
She is the author of “The Lady of the Lake,” the true story of a murdered woman whose saponified body floated to the surface of Lake Crescent in 1940.
Amundson, a former Sequim resident, will sign copies of “The Lady of the Lake” as well as her other nonfiction books. “The Great Forks Fire” is the tale of an explosive and fast-moving forest fire that nearly destroyed Forks, whose residents rallied in a last-ditch effort to save the town. She is also the editor of “Sturdy Folk,” a compilation of first-person accounts of life in Sequim and other North Olympic Peninsula communities in the early to mid-1900s. The book is in its fifth edition.
Amundson lives in Seattle.
