Salmon bake swims back for 42nd year

For the 42nd year, the Noon Rotary Club of Sequim brings back its annual Salmon Bake to benefit local charities.
From noon-4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 15, Rotarians will serve Alaskan salmon that’s baked over an open pit alder fire in Carrie Blake Park, 202 Blake Ave.
Tickets are $15 and free for children 10 and under.
A $1 discount coupon is offered in the Sequim Gazette with tickets available at the event or in advance at QFC, Safeway, Walmart, the Open Aire Market, Rotarian businesses and online at www.rotarysalmonbake.com.
Proceeds benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of the Olympic Peninsula, Sequim youth activities, Scouting, local charities, scholarships for high school seniors and other Rotary service projects. The meal includes soft drinks and ice cream cups and pulled pork is available as an alternative to salmon for no extra charge.
A free shuttle service from Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 Blake Ave., runs through the event’s duration.
