Lady Luck smiled on Robert Maddux more than once during 7 Cedars Casino’s Car or Cash 15th Anniversary Bash. He was the last of seven semi-finalists during the February promotion and picked the key that opened a 2010 Ford Fusion.
“We couldn’t believe it! It was an unreal thing,” said Maddux, at the official presentation March 5 in front of the Blyn casino. “I called my wife, and she didn’t believe me. Jerry Allen (7 Cedars Resort assistant manager) told her, ‘Mrs. Maddux, I’m not pulling your leg.'”
Maddux is a preschool teacher at Sequim’s Five Acre School; his wife, Jill, works at the Jamestown Family Health Clinic. The Fusion will be her car.
Glenn Smithson, director of gaming, worked with Mark Ostroot, general sales manager at Price Ford Lincoln Mercury in Port Angeles, to purchase the Fusion, valued at $23,000.
