Published 4:41 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2014

The Sequim School District has opened the nomination process Jan. 24-Feb. 7 for students in grades 3-7 who might qualify as candidates for highly capable services.

Highly capable students, or gifted students, perform or show potential for performing at high levels of accomplishment when compared to others at their age, experience or environment. These students might demonstrate exceptionally high intellectual ability, memory, creativity, curiosity and leadership ability.

Students currently provided highly capable services will continue to receive services and do not need another nomination.

Nomination forms are available online at www.sequim.k12.wa.us or at each school.

For more information on highly capable services, contact Tricia Billes, highly capable program coordinator, at 582-5500 or tbilles@sequim.k12.was.us.
