Yacht club plans silver celebration

Sequim Bay Yacht Club celebrates the beginning of the 2010 boating season and the club’s 35th year on Saturday, May 1, at John Wayne Marina, 2577 West Sequim Bay Road, Sequim.

The event is the club’s 30th opening day celebration, during the marina’s 25th anniversary.

Wear red, white and blue and pack a picnic lunch.

A flag ceremony and commissioning of the club is at 1:30 p.m. at the John Wayne Marina flagpole, including club officers in uniform, a bagpiper to pipe the colors/flags, blessing of the fleet and firing of the signal canon.

At 2 p.m., boats parade and do maneuvers in Sequim

Bay.
