2014 Clallam County Fair theme contest deadline nears

Two fair day passes, two fair T-shirts and $100 are on the line in the theme contest for the 2014 Clallam County Fair. Entries to name the fair’s theme are due this week. Mail a suggested theme to: Clallam County Fair Theme Committee, 1608 W. 16th St., Port Angeles, WA 98363; entries must be postmarked no later than Sept. 16. Only residents of Clallam County are eligible to enter the contest and there is no age limit. Entries may be submitted by an individual or a group.

The theme is limited to seven words or fewer. Do not use “Clallam County” in the slogan. Ten entries per person are allowed, but should be submitted on separate pieces of paper. Each entry must have the entrant’s name, address and phone number.

The winning entry is chosen on basis of creativity, originality, fair appropriateness and ease of decorating and displaying the theme.

Entries become the property of the Clallam County Fairgrounds. The Fair Committee reserves the right to revise the theme. Next year’s fair is Aug. 14-­17.
