A guide to giving back

Thirteen-year-old Trey Mannor bested himself for a good cause.
Over Sequim Lavender Weekend, he raised more than $700 for the Sequim Boys & Girls Club.
Mannor served as a tour guide for one of the club’s tour buses answering questions about Sequim, who makes the hanging pots around town, passengers’ destinations and more.
Last year, Mannor raised $500 and wanted to increase his total this year. He packed a lunch each the morning and rode the bus for 11 hours all three days.
An eighth-grader at Sequim Middle School, he said he’s been going to the club since kindergarten and that it’s like a second home to him.
“I’ve been here for forever and it’s my way of giving back,” Mannor said. “I’ll keep doing it until I graduate.”
