Now’s the time to wish a “happy retirement” to Deputy Jef Boyd after his 30-plus years with the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
Boyd was recognized at the Clallam County commissioners meeting Tuesday, Aug. 13.
Sheriff Bill Benedict said, “Jef was hired as a provisional deputy in July 1983 at the whopping rate of $9.99 an hour. Now Jef has decided to turn the page on another chapter in his life and will be moving on to accept a position with the City of Seattle.”
Benedict said, “As our most senior deputy, Jef will be sorely missed and we lament his loss, however, we are happy that after successfully surviving 30 years in law enforcement here in Clallam County he has found something new and fulfilling to move on to.”
