Baldemar Gonzales, 61 of Port Angeles, was sentenced Aug. 13 after pleading guilty in the theft of $30,927 in jewelry from his former Sequim housemate, and possession of methamphetamine from a separate incident, according to court records.

Clallam Deputy Sheriff Brian Knutson found that Gonzales had given some of the stolen jewelry to three young women at a local motel, who later identified Gonzales as the source.

According to court documents, one of the women asked if the jewelry was “hot,” and Gonzales responded, “Not to worry.”

Gonzales received an inpatient drug treatment sentence with two years supervision in lieu of prison. He has several previous drug convictions from California and Oregon, court documents state.
