What a night! Or rather, what a pair of nights!

Some of the best and most creative Sequim High School students put their talents on display at the annual SHS Talent Show Friday, March 16, and Saturday, March 17.

Backed by choir teacher John Lorentzen on piano, singers Hayley Robinson, Lavee Hess and Ciara Westhoven took top honors in the judged competition Friday with “Coming Home,” a tribute to Dakota Leach; Leach, an SHS sophomore, died in September at age 15.

Other top finishers included poet Patrick Carpenter, who nabbed second place, and Hess, a soloist, placed third.

On Saturday night, Frank Catelli, Mack Grinnell and other emcees took home the top People’s Choice award.

Second place went to a band that includes Derek Chamblin, Adrian Clifford, Matt Kowitz and Robert Tadina.

Third went to singer/pianist Maeve Harris.
