Motorcyclist killed in crash

A 53-year-old man from Shelton was killed Saturday morning about three miles north of Brinnon in Jefferson County when his motorcycle collided with a travel trailer on U.S. Highway 101.

Rickie A. Zehner was airlifted to and pronounced dead at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle later that day.

According to a Washington State Patrol report, Zehner was traveling northbound on the highway and failed to slow for a vehicle turning left. Zehner went into the southbound lane and collided with the front of the travel trailer being towed by a 2007 Nissan Armada.

Tami Ziegler, 43, of Port Angeles, who was in the Nissan Armada, was injured and transported to Jefferson General Hospital. Two youths in Ziegler’s vehicle were uninjured in the crash.
