Sequim to resume smoke tests of sewers
Published 11:52 am Thursday, March 20, 2014
Throughout August the City of Sequim Public Works Department resumes testing of sanitary sewers with smoke to find defects, breaks, leaks and faulty connections in the sewer system. The tests will occur west of Third Avenue to the western city limits, from Hendrickson Road on the north to Brownfield Road on the south.
The city began the smoke testing program last summer.
Neighborhoods and individual properties will be notified in advance when smoke testing will take place in their areas. If your neighborhood is to be tested, notify Utilities Manager Pete Tjemsland or Public Works (683-4908 or sewersmoketest@sequimwa.gov) if there is an individual in your building, business or residence who has respiratory problems and/or mobility limitations.
