The Sequim City Band is gifting the residents of Clallam County with a special “Holiday Concert” this year.
The additional concert will be indoors at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8, at the Sequim High School auditorium, 533 N. Sequim Ave.
Under the direction of Tyler Benedict, the band showcases well known favorites such as Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride,” “Greensleeves,” “Carol of the Bells,” “Happy Holiday/White Christmas,” music from Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker” and J.S. Bach’s “Sleepers, Wake.”
There will be a couple of Christmas medleys, one of which is an audience sing-a-long. A beautiful Hebrew piece called “Bashana Haba ‘Ah” may not be as well known, but the haunting melody will surely be remembered. The audience will be treated to a very special rendition of “Twas the Night Before Christmas,” the classic poem by Clement Clarke Moore. The announcer is Sue Ellen Riesau.
The Sequim City Band Concert is free of charge. To support the band by becoming a “Band-Aid,” see www.sequimcityband.org.
