Working Wonders with Wood

Sequim Arts meeting Thursday, Feb. 27, is at St Luke’s Episcopal Hall, 525 N. Fifth Ave., Sequim, starting at 9:30 a.m. with refreshments.

An entertaining presentation by professional wood carver Ken Davis will follow a business meeting at 10 a.m. Davis was the featured artist at the Northwest Carving Show at the Puyallup Fair in 2012 and the Sequim Pacific Northwest Wood Artisans Show in 2013.

His work is recognized throughout the Northwest and he has received commissions for carved artwork from admirers in California, Oregon and Washington.

Davis attends a weekly Tuesday “Carve In” with fellow carvers.

“There are many fine carvers and artists in this area and I feel humble to be among them,” Davis says. “Sequim is a beautiful place and I love living here.”

Sequim Arts is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting the visual arts in the community. The meeting is open to everyone, including non-artists and is free.
