SARC, YMCA set survey

Through Oct. 24, several thousand residents in the greater Sequim community should expect to receive a phone call asking their cooperation in completing a survey regarding their interest in a SARC/YMCA collaboration that could keep the Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center sustainable.

The Olympic Peninsula YMCA, Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center, Olympic Medical Center and private donors are funding a survey being conducted by Strategic Research Associates, a YMCA-certified research firm based in Spokane. (See www.strategicresearch.net)

“As we look to continually deepen our impact, meet the ever-changing needs of our communities and align ourselves with like-minded organizations,” Kyle Cronk, chief executive officer, Olympic Peninsula YMCA, said in a press release, gathering the proper data from our target market is essential.”

Eric Lewis, chief executive officer for OMC, added, “The field of medicine continues to work toward wellness, prevention and chronic disease management. YMCAs across the country, and right here on the peninsula, are recognized leaders in health and well-being. Collaborating with organizations such as the (YMCA) and SARC is a natural fit.”

Those who do not receive a call during the calling period and want to provide feedback may share opinions online at surveys.strategicresearch.net/cgi-bin/sequim.htm.

After collecting the survey data, the collaborating groups will see if a project is sustainable. If so, YMCA officials will present SARC’s board of commissioners with a proposal to operate the facility later this year, Cronk said.
