The second Valley of the Trolls race day is slated for Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Troll Haven/Bandy Farms, a privately owned estate occupying 150 acres along Discovery Bay in Gardiner, between Sequim and Port Townsend.

The Friends of Jefferson County Parks and Recreation is hosting USAT&F Certified half-marathon and 10-kilometer races, plus a 5-kilometer and a Kids Sprint for Health races.

Registrations will be open online through Friday, Aug. 19, at www.regtorace.com.

This year’s half-marathon features a pacer group.

Start time this year is a bit earlier, with the starter’s gun set for 8 a.m. for the half-marathon, 8:15 a.m. for the 10k and 8:30 a.m. for the 5k.

Cost for adults (18 and older) is $60 for the half-marathon, $45 for the 10k and $35 for the 5k up to race day. Those 18 and younger are $5 less.

T-shirts are included with entry, though shirts are guaranteed on race day only if participants had signed up on or before Aug. 1; those registering after Aug. 1 receive shirts either race day or by mail.

Packet pickup is from 5-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, or on race morning starting at 6 a.m. Races start at 8 a.m.

Commemorative awards are presented to the overall male and female in the half-marathon, as well as age groups: 12 and younger, 13-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80-plus.
