Christmas chorus is revving up for season

The Sequim Community Christmas Chorus is preparing to launch its 2016 season of presenting sacred Christmas music for the community and is calling all who love to sing. The chorus is open to singers of all levels of experience. Participation requires no fees or auditions.

Rehearsals begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, (6 p.m. registration) at the Sequim Seventh-day Adventist Church, 30 Sanford Lane. Rehearsals continue on Tuesday nights and performances will be on Dec. 2 (7:30 p.m.), Dec. 3 (3 p.m.) and Dec. 4 (3 p.m.).

‘Boys in Boat’ at library

“The Boys in the Boat” by Daniel James Brown will be discussed at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Sequim Library. Print copies of “The Boys in the Boat” are available in various formats; requested them online at www.nols.org.

Accordionists to gather

The Sequim Accordion Social will be held at the Shipley Center, 921 E. Hammond St., Sequim, from 1-4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11. A $2-$3 admission donation is requested at the door to pay for the room. The featured player is Rod Miller from Grand Forks, B.C. All players should bring their accordion and a song or two to play, and accordion lovers and dancers are invited to attend.

Rhody O’s offer lessons

All are invited to a free ice cream social and introductory square dance lesson. The Rhody O’s Square Dance Club offers beginning square dance lessons starting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdsay, Sept. 13. Lessons are each Tuesday evenings through the autumn and winter. Call 683-2409 or 385-1131.
