In competition for Karaoke Idol title, G-Man takes top spot

Gary “G-Man” Ristick and his versions of “Be My Baby Tonight” and “Working for the Weekend” earned him top honors in the City of Sequim’s fifth-annual Karaoke Idol competition on Aug. 23.
As part of the 2016 Music in the Park program, 14 performers competed for the title. Jessica Tanksley won second place and Yvonne Craig placed third in the competition.
Judges were Mayor Dennis Smith, city councilor Candace Pratt, Arts Commission chairman Sharon DelaBarre, and Joe Irvin, assistant to the city manager.
The Music in the Park program was funded by local sponsors: Presenting sponsor AirFlo Heating, M&M Sponsors include BrokersGroup Real Estate Professionals, Jarmuth Electric, Nikola Engineering and 7 Cedars Casino; Friends of M&M are Sofie’s Florist, John and Renee Jones and Paul Wentink.
