Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County is completing its Survivors Workshops Series: Practical Advice to Living Alone from 1:30- 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave., Sequim.

The last session will focus on self-care with Debby Smith and the Rev. Maggie Bourne-Raiswell. They will talk about how to bring the attention to the person so often forgotten when in the midst of grief: the griever themselves.

The previous three sessions addressed specific aspects of living alone: “Home and Car Maintenance,” “Cooking For One” and “Financial Management.” Each of the workshops was designed to assist you with dealing with the everyday problems that are likely to arise as you live alone and confront daily living after the loss of a loved one.

The entire series will repeat in Port Angeles in the next few months for those who missed the Sequim dates; attend any or all, as best fits your needs.

This workshop is free to the public, but registration is necessary by calling VHOCC at 452-1511, as space is limited.

Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, a nonprofit organization staffed almost entirely by volunteers, is continuously looking for people to deliver equipment, offer respite to caregivers, answer phones in the office and more. Call the Volunteer Services Manager at 452-1511 for more information.
