Clallam County Master Gardeners host a garden festival on Sept. 10 at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden

The WSU Clallam County Master Gardeners are inviting the community to their demonstration garden on Sept. 10 for a garden festival.

The event set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m., is at the Woodcock Demonstration Garden, 2711 Woodcock Road, Sequim.

A variety of events will be organized during the festival. At 11 a.m., a presentation about composting is scheduled. Attendees may tour the compost demonstration area by Master Composters to learn about different techniques to home composting.

A second presentation will be given at 1 p.m. about fall and winter gardening in the Pacific Northwest.

A plant clinic also will be available during the garden festival. Plant clinics are a free resource to the public for help in answering gardening questions and solving insect and plant disease problems in home gardens.

Master Gardeners will be on-hand to share their experiences and expertise on a variety of topics including planting a winter vegetable garden, growing berries, propagating perennials and using natives in the landscape.

Picnic tables and an open lawn area will be available for those who choose to bring a picnic lunch to enjoy the garden.

This is a free event that is open to the public; however, donations will be accepted to help support the maintenance costs of the garden.
