Election decisions

Before we make our choice of political philosophies and mark our ballots in the next election, let’s remember a few things:

A free nation only remains free as long as its people find their way to self-discipline and a work ethic — no free hand-outs. If they fail in this, through laziness, disciplines will be imposed on them by “The State” — taking away their freedoms little by little while relieving them of any self-direction. This is called socialism and begets an “I’ll take care of you” government — however — for a price.

That price, in the end, causes us to become a society with a need for more and more authorities and regulations (bureaucracy), pandering to our every minute fear “in order to protect us.” Thus, because of our failure to live out the innate principle within us, we soon are left with no choices and no self-respect. And these very regulations — supposed to protect us — take away the very freedoms we love.

Do we really want to trust this kind of government or to people who hide their actions behind ridicule of any deep inquiry into the real truth? And, do we really want to put the world’s most powerful army into the hands of people who are guided by only political advantage in order to be elected?

The Constitution of our forefathers and the survival of our country as we have known it is at stake. Please … think hard before you vote in November.

Democratic nominee befits ‘evil’ liberal label

With reference to “Election more than a personality contest” (Sequim Gazette, Sept. 28, page A-10):

I share the writer’s concern regarding the Democratic nominee for President of the United States; she is a proven liar and an avowed devotee of Saul Alinski and Margaret Sanger and the evils they represent.

Despite claims by so-called climate scientists, there exists not the slightest scintilla of proof that a perceived climate change is caused by the actions of man. In my opinion it is all hogwash designed to obtain yet more federal government control over our already prostrate private sector.

A quotation by Bertrand Russell covers this controversy perfectly: “The fact that an opinion is widely held is no evidence whatever that it is not utterly absurd. Indeed, in view of the silliness of the majority of mankind a widespread belief is more likely to be foolish than sensible.”

As to “renewable energy standards” why is it necessary to have standards for “renewable energy”?

Why not turn the private sector loose to invent them profitably?

A question for the writer: What is wrong with “nationalism” especially when it refers to the United States? Historically it is our blood, our valor and our treasure that has kept the world from slipping into abject chaos since 1941. We have an intrinsic national culture which is exemplary, it is not necessary and likely ridiculous to adopt cultures of other nations just to be “multicultural.”

I’m sorry that the writer will vote for the Democratic candidate when that candidate is the archetypal champion of Modern Progressive Liberalism, the primary evil besetting our society today. Her election will assure the nomination of Supreme Court justices that will attack the Constitution of the United States and attempt to rewrite it to fit their perverse ideology.
