GREYWOLF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Third-graders from Shannon Green’s and Sheri Burke’s classes combined reading and math skills while making gifts for their families by reading through recipes and measuring out the ingredients.
Students just finished up the 12 Days of Giving, a food drive benefiting the Sequim Food Bank. The generosity of our families will be a blessing to the food bank, especially during the holidays when so many are in need. The school’s hallway was lined from the east library door to the west library entrance with boxes and sacks of food donations. Thanks to all the families that contributed; it was a great lesson for our children to learn about giving back to their community!

SEQUIM HIGH SCHOOL
The annual Winter Wishes assembly was held Thursday, Dec. 15. Leadership students under the direction of teacher and faculty advisor Sean O’Mera had been preparing for the event for weeks, making decorations, gathering donations and putting together activities for the assembly. A mixture of just-for-fun wishes as well as some heartfelt needs were granted in the spirit of the giving season. Several cookie platters put together by Carol Wagner’s cooking classes were bestowed on grateful individuals. A very moving moment came when one student was given round-trip airfare to visit an ailing grandmother who lives at a great distance. Many scarves, gloves, socks and hats made by Dakota Henderson’s grandmother, Elaine Wilson, were handed out.
This was just part of the work of many elves at Winter Wishes! The students would like to thank all those who supported this event!
