Olympic Christian School picks annual speech contest winners

Olympic Christian School presented awards for their annual speech meet on Nov. 17. Everything from funny poems to verses to patriotic speeches were recited by students in grades 1-8. Eighth-grade winner Emaleigh Smith gave Patrick Henry’s “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech with conviction.

Third grade — 1. Sophia Meyers, 2. Ethan Swenson, 3. Jasiah Meyer

Fourth grade — 1. Sterling Shamp, 2. Matthew Miller, 3. Jake Shamp

Fifth grade — 1. Lauren Smith, 2. Abby Jones

Sixth grade — 1. Ephrem Ireland, 2. Vienna Shamp, 3. Aiden Swenson
