Round Trip comes to Elks Lodge
Local band Round Trip plays rock ‘n’ roll, country and oldies from 6-8:40 p.m. Sunday, Dec., 10, at the Sequim Elks Lodge, 143 Port Williams Road. The public is invited. Cost is an $8 cover or $7 for club members.
Book talk takes on Pulitzer winner
The Pulitzer Prize-winning “All the Light We Cannot See” by Anthony Doerr is the book up for discussion at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave. Copies of the book are available in various formats including regular print, large print, audiobook on CD and downloadable audio and eBooks. They may be requested online by visiting the library catalog at www.nols.org. All are welcome to drop in and participate. Singing, yoga combo at Blue Mountain Yoga+
Blue Mountain Yoga+, at 803 Carlsborg Road-Suite D, hosts “Gentle Yoga with Crystal Singing Bowls” from 6-7:15 p.m. Monday, Dec. 11. Singer/songwriter Sophia Engkvist and yoga instructor Julia Buggy lead the session of gentle movement and stretching accompanied by music. Bring mats, cushions, and blankets for comfort; seating is available. A fee applies. Shipley Center Christmas concert tickets on sale
Tickets are on sale now for Shipley Center’s Christmas Concert, set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16.
The concert will include performances from Grand Olympics Chorus, Olympic Peninsula Ukulele Strummers, Old Time Fiddlers and Na Hula ‘O Wahine ‘Ilikea Dancers. During the intermission there will be light refreshments (included with ticket price) and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Tickets are $5 for members and $8 for non-members. Purchase them at the center, 921 E. Hammond St., between 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. Some tickets will be sold at the door. For more information, call Michelle Rhodes at 360-683-6806 or email to info@shipleycenter.org.
Barton signs at 7 Cedars
Rex Barton, author of five fiction thrillers, is having a book signing from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, at 7 Cedars Casino, 270756 US Highway 101, Blyn.
Barton’s books include “The Greed Pond,” “What If,” “Panga Wars,” “The Mongoose Diaries” and “In the Eye of the Hawk.” Barton is a retired United States Army veteran and a retired military policeman, law enforcement officer and mortgage broker/realtor. Most of the material in his books come from incidents in his military police work, he said. He has completed an autobiography that he plans to release in 2018. See www.rexbarton.net.
