Sequim Soroptimists host free hospice info event

Soroptimist International of Sequim aims to provide answers about how hospice organizations can help those in need at its upcoming “Tea with SHE” presentation that explains the benefits and myths of hospice care.
The free “Hospice Care – Benefits & Myths” seminar is set for noon-1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave.
Reservations are not required and light refreshments will be served.
Representatives from Assured Hospice and Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County will describe hospice care goals and services, and will also address the many misconceptions and misunderstandings people have about hospice care.
Topics will include:
· What hospice care is and why it is important
· Who is eligible for hospice care and whether family/caregivers are included
· If hospice care is appropriate for you and/or your loved ones
· Services and support provided under hospice
· How your personal doctors are involved
· What hospice care costs and who pays for the services
· How to make sure you get quality care
A short question-and-answer session follows the presentations. Free informational handouts and brochures will be provided to attendees.
Tea with SHE (Soroptimists Helping and Empowering” is a series of free seminars/presentations aimed primarily at mature and older women in Sequim and the surrounding areas.
However, the seminars are open to both women and men of all ages who are interested in the topics presented.
