Resources fair to help residents plan for ‘The Long Road’

“The Road Ahead,” an event showcasing healthcare, finance, housing, legal, family and leisure resources in the community, is scheduled for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at Sequim Community Church, 950 Fifth Ave.

The free event, hosted by Compass & Clock, includes eight topics of discussion, 18-20 exhibitors and free healthcare screenings (pulse diagnostics, ultralign and memory screenings, more). It also features door prizes and free snacks and beverages.

The presentation schedule includes:

• 10:30 a.m., “The Benefits of Good Nutrition & Exercise,” Matt Parks

• 10:55 a.m., “Maximizing Your Benefits” with Charla Wright

• 11:20, “Brain Boosters: Because Memories Matter,” Pam Scott

• 11:45 a.m., “Identity Theft: How to Protect Yourself,” Halina D’Urso

• 12:10 p.m. “Creating Family Travel Experiences,” Rob Rector

• 12:35 a.m., “Get the Party Started, The Fun of Community Living,” Beth Pratt

• 1 p.m., “Advance Care Planning,” Sandy Ulf

• 1:25 p.m., “Estate Panning: Why Is It Important?,” Richard Tizzano

The event organizer is Mary Coupland of Compass & Clock, who brought “Know Your Choices Before You Have to Make Them,” a free panel and question-and-answer discussion, to the Sequim area in May.
