Milestone: Reach and Row for Hospice event raises $31K+ for VHOCC

Another year, another record of funds raised for helping a community nonprofit provide respite care for local hospice patients and their families.
Sequim Bay Yacht Club members raised $31,114.32 at the 26th-annual Reach and Row for Hospice on Sept. 15 on Sequim Bay, to donate to Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County (VHOCC).
More than $22,000 of the 2018 total was raised by donations from the nine sailboats and more than 20 rowing shells.
With the recent donation, the yacht club’s efforts with the fundraising sailboat race has now raised more than $360,000 for Volunteer Hospice.
The funds are used for respite care for VHOCC patients and their families.
Volunteer Hospice of Clallam County, a 501c(3) nonprofit at 540 E. Eighth St. in Port Angeles, provides compassionate care to the terminally ill, their caregivers and families. The organization does not bill any patient, insurance plan or government agency with all services supported by local donations and grants. All donations are tax-deductible.
