Santa and his helpers with Clallam County Fire District 3 made the rounds for good causes last week.

It was the 10th year Santa’s Toy and Food Fire Brigade traveled around the Sequim area collecting toys and games for Sequim Community Aid’s Toys for Sequim Kids (Dec. 11), and food donations for the Sequim Food Bank.

Captain Marc Lawson with Clallam County Fire District 3 said they exceeded last year’s totals including 65 crates of food and about $700 donated for toys and food.

Donations were dropped off on Monday, Dec. 9.

Part of the tradition included Santa Claus traveling in a 1938 antique fire truck and handing out candy canes and hot cocoa.

Santa’s Toy and Food Fire Brigade is a partnership between Clallam County Fire District 3, Explorer Post 1003 and IAFF Local 2933.
