City seeking arts advisory commissioner
The City of Sequim is seeking applicants to fill a vacant post on the City Arts Advisory Commission. The appointment is to fill a vacancy for a county resident through Dec. 31, 2025.
State law requires applicants must be a U.S. citizen, a registered voter in Clallam County, and have three years of residency in Sequim preceding their appointment.
The commission meets the third Monday of each month at 3 p.m.; because of the COVID-19 pandemic, meetings will be held virtually until further notice.
The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. Thursday, April 8.

Local Toastmasters set for March 26 contest
Members of the local Skwim Toastmasters Club, Kyle Hall, ME Bartholomew and Lindy MacLaine, have won club and Area speech contests and will advance to the next level of competition, the division contest, set for 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 26, on Zoom.
MacLaine won the Area Evaluation Contest. Kyle Hall and ME Bartholomew each won their area’s International Speech Contests. Each will be competing again on Friday night.

Skwim Toastmasters is part of Toastmasters International, a worldwide nonprofit educational organization that “empowers individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.” The Sequim club meets every Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. on Zoom.

Art Jam set for Labor Day weekend
Art Jam, a Sequim event traditionally held during Sequim Lavender Weekend in July, has moved in 2021 to Labor Day weekend at Rock Hollow Farm, 505 E. Silberhorn Road.
The event is now scheduled for 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5-6, organizers said this week. Health guidelines will be observed, they said.
Art Jam is “an intimate gathering of creativity” and a “sharing of ideas” that includes community interaction and fun.
Attendees are invited to join the experience at Rock Hollow Farm, walk the trail and listen to music Apple Tree Stage.

United Way to host virtual paint and sip
Tickets are now on sale for United Way of Clallam County’s virtual Paint & Sip Fundraising Event, set for 6-9 p.m. Thursday, April 22 on Zoom.
This family-friendly event is perfect for artists and non-artists alike, hosted by Natalie Ardzejeski of Pour Sip Paint and United Way staff.
The registration cost of $55 per person includes the paint kit mailed to your door with everything needed to participate, as well as a donation to the Clallam Community Fund benefiting the community.
