Special Studium Generale guest to present from Israel
Dr. Dafna Moriya, founder of The Center for Art-Based Research, will host her Studium Generale presentation, “Art as a Tool for Resilience,” live from Tel Aviv, Israel, at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22
The community is welcome to attend the free event. Attendees can choose whether they would like to participate in the workshop or to experience the session as a demonstration. Those who prefer to watch, listen and learn can simply arrive in the Zoom meeting.

Those who would like to participate actively in art therapy can pre-register by emailing Kate Reavey (put “April 22nd workshop”) in the subject line to kreavey@pencol.edu. These participants should have have colored pencils or pastels nearby during the Zoom as well as a large pad or a notebook of paper. The demonstration/workshop will be about 50-60 minutes.
Moriya is an art-based researcher, artist, lecturer and art therapist who hosts lectures and workshops internationally. Her workshop “Art as a Tool for Problem Solving” ranges from professional workshops for researchers and therapists, to eye-opening experiential workshops for the general public. Preschool opens enrollment
Faith Lutheran Preschool in Sequim is currently enrolling students for the 2021-2022 school year.
Faith Lutheran offers programs for children ages 3-5.

Genealogists set ‘brick wall’ session
Clallam County Genealogical Society members will be on hand to help people locate those ancestors who seem to have left no trace of their existence in a “Brick Wall” session at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24, on Zoom.
Call the society between 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesday-Friday, at 360-417-5000 to get the necessary Zoom meeting number and passcode.
Anyone and everyone is invited to join.
people may also watch the presentations and ask questions by coming to the society’s research facility at 403 E. Eighth St., Port Angeles; masks and social distancing will be required.
Local office open to help disabled veterans
The Disabled American Veterans (DAV) office at 583 W. Washington St. is open 10 a.m.-3 p.m. each Wednesday, to serve veterans who are needing help with claims or other information.
Services are free and veterans do not have to be members of DAV to receive assistance.
The office is by walk-in; no appointment is necessary. Masks are required upon entrance.
YMCA hosts teen job workshop
The YMCA of Sequim, 610 N. Fifth Ave., hosts a Teen Job Workshop from 4:30-6 p.m. Tuesday, April 27
Attendees learn how to fill out job applications and create “eye-catching resumes” as well as getting tips for successful interviewing.
