Graffiti incidents on rise across city

Sequim Police report a string of graffiti in recent weeks across the City of Sequim.

Sgt. Carolee Edwards said on Friday there’s been an increase in taggings found in Carrie Blake Community Park, along Hendrickson Road, Third Avenue and Washington Street.

She said there’s been some specific words, taglines, and some pictures with some similarities but not a clear connection between them all.

“We’re not seeing any patterns,” Edwards said. “It’s just a convenience of location.”

She said police continue to investigate but have not identified any suspects and if there were clear targets.

Of businesses and locations struck, Edwards said damage ranges from $50 to a few hundred dollars per incident.

Individuals with potential camera evidence and/or tips are asked to contact Sequim Police at 360-683-7227.
