Gymnastics: SHS/PA squad splits with NK, Kingston

The combined Sequim-Port Angeles gymnastics squad finished its regular season with a home meet on Jan. 25, splitting the double dual meet with North Kitsap and Kingston at Klahhane Gymnastics Center..

Sequim gymnasts took three out of the top four individual all-arounds, but North Kitsap took the win overall. Team scores were North Kitsap with 156.3 points, PA/Sequim with 133.45, and Kingston third with 42.2.

In the bars event, Sequim’s Susannah Sharp placed third with a 6.6, Kori Miller fourth with a 6.5, Lucy Spelker sixth with a 6.1 and Amara Brown 10th with a 4.4.

In the vault, Kori Miller was first with an 8.8, Sharp second with an 8.6 and Spelker 10th with a 7.6. In the beam, Spelker was second with an 8.6, Miller fourth with an 8.3 and Sharp 10th with a 7.1.

In the floor event, Miller was second with an 8.55, Spelker third with an 8.5 and Sharp fourth with an 8.3.

In the all around, Miller came in second with a 32.15, while Spelker was third with a 30.8 and Sharp fourth with a 30.6.

The meet honored seniors Miller and Port Angeles’ Chloe Notari.

Next up is the sub-district meet on Feb. 9, where gymnasts will be competing to move onto districts set for Feb. 16.
