Kindergarteners congregate for first day of school

Greywolf Elementary School hosted the first day of school for kindergarteners on Tuesday, Sept. 2, after Labor Day.

All other Sequim School District students started the week prior on Aug. 27.

Staff report that there are 138 kindergarteners as of the first week with eight classroom teachers.

Superintendent Regan Nickels announced at the Sept. 2 School Board meeting that the first day of buses went well with the kindergarteners added to the rotation.

Coming up, the Sequim Elementary PTA announced a takeover at Papa Murphy’s from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., today, Wednesday, Sept. 10, and the school hosts picture day on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
