Name the farm’s cougar cubs

Sequim Gazette staff

The two new 12-week-old cougar cubs at Olympic Game Farm have a home. Now all they need are names.

On Aug. 20, officials at the farm and animal preserve off Ward Road started a drawing for the public to submit choices to name the cub brothers.

The cubs came to the farm about two weeks ago, originally from an animal sanctuary in Ohio that no longer had space to care for them.

To participate, vote on Olympic Game Farm’s Facebook page or submit names in boxes at the farm, 1423 Ward Road, or at Hardy’s Market, 10200 Old Olympic Highway.

You can e-mail names to the farm directly at olympicgamefarm@hotmail.com.

Those who pick the cubs’ new names receive four free admission passes for the farm, a $50 gift certificate to the farm’s gift shop and a photo shoot with the cubs.

Deadline is Sept. 2; winners will be announced Sept. 3. Olympic Game Farm also recently took in two tigers this month: 3-year-old Sasha, a golden Siberian, and an 11-year-old white Siberian tiger named Czar. Both came from a home in Oregon that had no means to care for them.
