The Sequim Valley Lions Club held two fundraisers in May. Its annual "White Cane Days" May 1-2 raised $1,200 for the Northwest Lions Foundation for Sight and Hearing.
Funds will aid people around the world and in Sequim, including the foundation’s free "Lions Health Screening Unit" in late August.
On May 9, members held the club’s annual pancake breakfast at the Sequim Senior Activity Center for about 150 people.
"These funds will be used to help defray the costs of eye exams and glasses for children and adults from the Sequim community referred to us because of need," said Arndt Lorenzen, Lions member.
