A familiar face is now on patrol.
Joelle Munger, Sequim’s newest police officer, grew up in Sequim. She’s now on a one-year assignment in her old hometown with the Sequim Police Department.
Munger’s parents still live in Port Angeles, as does her brother. She has one sister in
Sequim and another in Moses Lake.
Munger has put in several years in law enforcement on the peninsula, including time spent on the beat in Forks.
She recently completed two years with Peninsula Communications, the communications division of the Port Angeles Police Department.
Chief Bill Dickinson officiated at the Friday, Sept. 30, swearing-in and also commented on Munger’s qualifications.
“It typically takes six months to train a green person,” he said, but with Munger “the citizens get someone who’s ready immediately.”
Munger was accompanied by her children, Easton, 4, and Kendra, 7.
