The 32,000-square-foot Sequim Goodwill Store opens its doors on Thursday, July 15.

Media Relations Manager Matthew Erlich said a store-opening ceremony is planned for 8:45 a.m. July 15 at the store at 680-C W. Washington St.

Sequim Mayor Ken Hays and Tacoma Goodwill CEO Terry Hayes, will be present for the event, Erlich said.

A grand-opening sale will go through the Saturday after the opening, he said.

Hayes said the store represents an opportunity for jobs in the community and support for job training and placement services for disadvantaged people.

The opening event will include free giveaways, the chance to win an iPod, DVD player or gas card, and hot dogs and soda available from Healthy Families of Clallam County. There also will be several live local radio broadcasts from the store over the opening weekend, Erlich said.

Close to 40 people were hired to work in the store, which is the second Goodwill Store in Clallam County and the third on the Olympic Peninsula, he said.
