A five-car pileup on U.S. Highway 101 near Carlsborg Road resulted in injuries to four drivers. Two of the four were brought to Olympic Medical Center for further treatment.
The accident occurred at approximately 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 4 when Mia Evridge, 18, of Port Angeles slammed into the back of a line of four cars stopped on the highway. A chain reaction occurred, with all five cars eventually involved in the collision.
Evridge struck the 1999 Kia Sephia driven by Savanha Smith, Sequim. Smith’s car was pushed into the rear of the van driven by James Needham, Sequim, who in turn struck the Subaru Station Wagon driven by Judith Finley of Port Angeles. Finley’s vehicle struck the vehicle driven by Amber Robb of Sequim. Finley was accompanied by two minor boys.
Finley and Smith were brought to Olympic Medical Center for further observation and treatment.
Washington State Patrol said no drugs or alcohol were involved.
Charges are pending against Evridge for inattention.
