New officer joins Sound Community

Kari Osterberg has been hired as business development officer for the Peninsula Region of Sound Community Bank. She will be responsible for development of new banking relationships in Clallam County and will be in the Sequim office at 541 N. Fifth Ave.

Osterberg has 31 years of experience, most recently as vice president at Westsound Bank in Port Angeles where she worked for the past seven years. She also held positions with KeyBank in Port Angeles. She will be joining former Westsound Bank commercial lender Wes Ochs, who also recently joined Sound Community Bank.

Osterberg is a longtime Port Angeles resident and an active community member. She lives in Port Angeles with her husband, Kent, and has two grown daughters.

Sound Community Bank has a new full-service facility under construction at 110 N. Alder St., in Port Angeles, that is expected to open in July. The bank also plans to purchase the Port Angeles branch of 1st Security Bank of Washington. That transaction is expected to close in the second quarter, pending regulatory approval.
