The Clallam County Marine Resources Committee is offering up four internship opportunities.
From mid-June through mid-August interns may work on a variety of projects aimed at protecting and restoring marine resources. Projects range from educational outreach, kelp monitoring, helping to reduce people and dogs’ impact to beaches, cleaning up marine debris to assisting with updating the oil spill geographic response plan.
The positions span 80 hours at $15 per hour. During this time interns will work closely with Clallam County MRC members while spearheading their project.
Potential interns must be at least 17 years old and show a high level of responsibility in the natural resources and/or environmental studies program work.
For more information about the Clallam County MRC and internship opportunities, visit www.clallamcountymrc.org or call Cathy Lear at 417-2361.
If you are interested in applying for an internship, submit a letter of intent to the Clallam Marine Resources Committee at clear@co.clallam.wa.us.
The letter should include reasons for wanting to pursue an internship, explanation of skills particularly useful for the internship, how the experience fits into future plans and forecasted benefits from participation.
The deadline for the letter of interest is Monday, May 16.
