News release from Clallam County Parks, Fair & Facilities
Work begins next week on rehabilitation of the Historic Clallam County Courthouse building, said Joel Winborn, director of the Clallam County Parks, Fair & Facilities Department, in a news release.
The clock in the bell tower of the building will be disabled during the restoration project, which is expected to continue through the end of the year. Major components of the project include rehabilitation of the building exterior, including stabilization of the bell tower, replacement of the front entrance steps and railings, and renovations to the interior of the building. The work is being funded in part through a grant from the Washington State Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation, Historic County Courthouse Rehabilitation Grant Program.
